Access

Sümeg is located in Veszprém County, at the southwestern edge of the Bakony Hills, in a valley connecting the Keszthely Mountains with the Little Hungarian Plain and the Tapolca Basin. It lies approximately 20 km from Lake Balaton and about 180 km from Budapest.
The town is situated along Main Road No. 84, which connects Sopron with Lake Balaton.

By Car

From Budapest, take the M7 motorway until the exit toward Veszprém. From there continue on Main Road No. 8, passing through Veszprém. Before reaching Devecser, a sign indicates Sümeg to the left—turn off Main Road No. 8 at this point.
After Devecser, you will pass four villages. After Csabrendek, turn left at the junction, then take the second exit to the right.
